COVID-19 Will Make Democratic Socialism Popular Two Ways

With all the economic shutdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many politicians are calling for some type of basic income stimulus ala Andrew Yang just to keep some economic activity going. Even Trump is jumping in on the act. Undoubtedly, Biden will take credit for thinking of Andrew Yang's idea first, but that's just the cute bullshit people have to put up with from good old Joe.

Trump supporters are putting up memes that correctly show the Democratic hypocrisy on the matter, but they do so without recognizing their own hypocrisy. It would be funny, except that it isn't when you consider all these hypocrites in both parties get to vote. Oh well, I'll get to that later.

After New Hampshire, Desperate Establishment Will Market Identity Politics

For anyone who doesn't understand the term "identity politics," it is the idea that it is time for a gay person or a woman to take charge, and so anyone who is not gay or a woman does not meet the qualification. If you think it is silly, you have never attended a meeting conducted by marketing people. Selling benefits instead of features is one of the prime keys they emphasize.

"Imagine vacationing in Mexico," but don't mention that it will take 18 years to pay back with minimum payments, is an example of selling the benefit of a credit card. A successful marketing campaign is one that lures people in with the image despite that it really comes with a huge burden. Now, you shouldn't get me wrong, I don't think marketing is inherently evil. It is the people who succeed in marketing who are inherently evil. Well, maybe not all of them, but all of them who peddle long-term problems with images that are deceptive.

You will see a flurry of this type of marketing. It is an act of desperation.

Bernie Should Exploit Bloomberg by Boycotting Debate

Imagine it is February 19th in Nevada. The DNC is hosting its next debate, and, because of a recent rule change, Republican Michael Bloomberg has bought his way onto the stage. Along with establishment frontrunners Joe Biden, Elizabeth Warren, and Pete Buttigieg, the other candidates who are running for the money side are also there. There is a small audience of well-behaved cronies who have been told how to behave.

Meanwhile, also in Nevada, an all-day event is taking place with artists who are lining up to support the progressive wing of the party. The headlining event taking place at the same time as the debates, but on a competing channel, includes Bernie Sanders, Tulsi Gabbard, Andrew Yang, and Mike Gravel discussing the various ways they envision the future.

At the same time that Buttigieg is throwing one-liners that have Biden visibly upset and Elizabeth Warren doing her cheerleading moves to calm everyone down, the all-stars of the candidates will be flipping a big middle finger at the establishment by putting on a clinic of what the Democratic party will be like when progressives rule the roost. It would be so eye opening that even the densest of the 'vote blue no matter who crew' will understand the difference between what is and what soon will be.
